For a quarter of a century, Storz & Bickel is a leader in the field of cannabis vaporization. Founded in Germany in the late 1990s by Markus Storz, who was later joined by Jürgen Bickel, the company revolutionized consumption patterns with the launch of the Volcano vaporizer in 2000.

On September 9, 2025, Storz & Bickel unveiled its latest innovation: the Veazy. Compact, colorful, and priced at 248 euros, it is the company's most affordable and accessible device to date.

Designed as the «little brother» to the Venty, the Veazy uses a miniaturized hybrid heating system that combines conduction and convection. It heats up in about 40 seconds and is preset to 180 °C, with customizable options available through the brand’s web app and Bluetooth connectivity. iPhone users will, however, need to use specific browsers (such as Bluefy or Web BLE) due to App Store restrictions.

Practicality also guided the design. The Veazy works with Storz & Bickel’s dosing capsule system, allowing users to pre-pack consistent portions—a useful feature for both medical patients and on-the-go users. Its durability has been tested under extreme conditions, including the company’s famous «shower test,» ensuring its reliability.

Weighing just 136 g, with fast charging via USB-C, and available in 4 colors (Charming Pink, Inspiring Orange, Dynamic Blue, and Alluring Black), the Veazy marks a shift in the brand's lifestyle, moving away from its traditionally austere black designs.

The Evolution of Cannabis Culture

Vaporizing, once a niche practice, is becoming commonplace in Germany and beyond. «Vaporizing dried flowers is also the most widely accepted form,» Mr. Bickel told Cannabis & Tech Today. «If you’re sitting on a restaurant patio and take a few puffs from a Veazy, it really doesn’t bother anyone.»

Storz & Bickel is actively capitalizing on this normalization, aligning its brand with mainstream events such as launch parties in New York, music festivals, and even the Super Bowl. By promoting vaporizing as a discreet, flavorful, and socially acceptable practice, the company hopes to position it within the same cultural sphere as wine, that is, an experience of discernment rather than excess.

Bickel contrasts this with the Popularity of pre-rolled joints, which are popular among young consumers because of their convenience and low price. However, he remains critical: «It’s often an inferior product,» he says. «I don’t think everyone today is trying to consume as much THC as possible in the shortest amount of time,» he says. Instead, he predicts «a resurgence of vaping and a decline in THC consumption, reflecting a shift toward refinement.».

This reflects trends observed in other sectors: just like craft beer and wine With the focus shifting to flavor, terroir, and experience rather than sheer potency, cannabis could be entering a phase of discovery, where terpenes and taste take center stage.

The Veazy embodies this transition: an entry-level device that still prioritizes safety, reliability, and flavor. And although Mr. Bickel personally prefers flowers, he acknowledges the momentum behind concentrates and hints at future innovations aimed at bringing the same technical rigor to this segment.

A global brand with local roots

Despite its global reach, Storz & Bickel’s identity remains rooted in Germany. The recent legalization in Germany has provided fertile ground for the company to expand in the domestic market while continuing to operate in major markets such as the United States. The company has a subsidiary in Oakland, California.

For Mr. Bickel, however, the true measure of success lies in standardization.

«I also want to show people what it’s like. I don’t want to give a bad impression. Everything that happens on social media is authentic. I’m a consumer, after all, and I’m testing the device,» he told CannabisNow.

And he emphasized what really matters to him: «Take a close look at the variety you have—what are the terpene profiles? That’s where we’d like to see the entire industry move.»
