The best portable vaporizers of 2020
If you're looking for the best portable vaporizer of 2020, the list can be long. So let's make your job easier and present our top 5 vaporizers for this year.
Find out more vaporizer comparisons and tests on the Cannavapos website.
Storz&Bickel Mighty
Although the Mighty has been available for almost four years, it still stands out as the best portable dry herb vaporizer. Its vapor quality is comparable to that of high-end desktop vaporizers, and it's very easy to use.
The Mighty uses a combination of conduction and convection, patented by Storz & Bickel, also makers of the Volcano. A front-mounted display lets you set the temperature, and a built-in safety device turns it off automatically if you forget.
The Mighty already had an excellent battery, which has been updated in 2018 with 20% more autonomy, meaning almost two hours' use without having to plug it in. What's more, it can be used while charging.
2 points to note: it's bigger than most portable vaporizers. And it comes in at around 350€. The price of quality and performance.
Storz&Bickel Crafty+
The Crafty+ is the Mighty's little brother, in its latest version incorporating a battery with boosted performance and 90 minutes of vaporization per charge...
Although it's less expensive and smaller than the Mighty, it doesn't feature a screen - settings are made via a smartphone app - and is a little less powerful than the Mighty, even if its steam remains of a very comfortable quality. It weighs only around 135 g, making it discreet in the pocket and in the hand. Like all Storz&Bickel products, the Crafty+ is sturdy and can withstand the shocks of nomadic use.
Firefly 2+
The Firefly 2+ is a convection vaporizer that heats up in seconds, producing thick, flavorful vapor. At the time of its release, however, it was criticized for its size, lack of temperature control and battery life.
Firefly 2+ corrects the shortcomings of the first version, with a smaller 30%, lighter 50% and advanced temperature controls. Settings are made directly via the Firefly app.
The most notable improvement, however, remains battery charging and life. You can now charge the 80% vapo in 20 minutes. The battery is also replaceable.
With its convection heating system, Firefly 2+ offers the best vapor quality of any portable vaporizer on this list. It also heats up almost instantly, with no 30-second wait. It's also easy to clean and maintain.
The only drawback is the learning curve. You'll really have to learn how to use it, which isn't all that difficult, but does mean you'll have to go through a self-education phase when it comes to vaping.
Pax 3
Pax vaporizers have always appealed to us, both for their performance and their ultra-sleek design. The Pax 3 is even more beautiful, with new matte colors and a host of enhancements.
Perhaps the greatest quality of the Pax 3 is its size. It's not the smallest of portable vaporizers, but it's the perfect size to put in your pocket without losing it in your belongings. It weighs just 93 grams, which is pretty crazy for all the technology it contains. One charge gives 90 minutes of use.
The Pax 3 heats up quickly, in about 15 to 20 seconds. It uses lip-sensing technology to know when to heat up. The steam produced is tasty, but without the subtlety of convection steam, which won't matter to most people.
DaVinci IQ 2
The DaVinci IQ 2 has a super-elegant design with a beautiful LED grid display. And as well as looking good, it also works very well. Its steam is rich in flavor and its ceramic heating chamber vaporizes dried herbs by conduction.
This second version lets you control the airflow on demand, thanks to a knob on the underside of the vapo. The more open the airflow, the cooler and more discreet the vapor. The DaVinci IQ 2 also lets you dose active ingredients via the app. By indicating the quality and quantity of dried herb present in the heating chamber, the vaporizer will automatically dose each inhalation. Cool, isn't it?
