Selling cookies in front of a dispensary: these scouts have come up with a brilliant idea!
When it comes to opening a business, location counts for a lot. And this little Scout from Oregon hasn't forgotten.
The Girls Scouts were founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low with the aim of empowering young girls by exposing them to values such as honesty, justice, courage, entrepreneurship... through activities such as camping, community service or learning first aid.

When it's cookie-selling season, one of the ways the Scouts raise funds, they give priority to setting up their stalls in front of churches and grocery stores.
I don't know if you can see where we're going with this, but one Scout decided to innovate and set up her stand... at the exit of a cannabis dispensary ! Targeting a population who often gets the munchies is simply excellent marketing.
And even if proximity to large quantities of weed isn't necessarily in the Scouts« minds, there's nothing to stop them from doing so: "the Girls Scouts Organization doesn't accept it, but it's not against the rules,» assures Scout's aunt.

The spot right in front of the dispensary Foster Buds apparently turned out to be very lucrative, selling 35 boxes very quickly. In fact, the store echoed the girl's initiative, offering a discount on the Girls Scout Cookies (the cannabis variety, not the little girl!) for all proof of cookie purchase.
«It seems like people are happy we're here,» the young entrepreneur told the local magazine. Maybe one day she'll understand why!
