CBD Farm attacks CBD farms
In a Facebook post published on their page and massively relayed by Mr Mondialisation (1.6 million followers), Le Chanvre du Griffoul, a small CBD farm in the Tarn region, recounts its misadventures.
Last Wednesday, the small-scale farm received a visit from a bailiff, who served them with a summons to appear before the Albi court on May 26. The dispute concerns La Ferme du CBD's request to remove the words «ferme du CBD» from the Chanvre du Griffoul website.
La Ferme du CBD, a company specializing in the distance-selling of CBD products, is owned by the Swiss holding company Audacia Group and is probably one of the Top 10 CBD e-commerce players in France.
The Swiss company is asking for €126,000 in damages, plus €5,000 per day if the words «ferme du CBD» remain on the Chanvre de Griffoul site, which, as explained in their Facebook post, barely clears €50,000 a year once taxes are paid.
The Griffoul hemp is not the only target of the CBD Farm legal department. Many other brands and competitors have received similar emails, which CBD Farm confirms, and have removed the requested mentions according to Hemp.
Le Chanvre du Griffoul, 4 former Gilets Jaunes, believes in resistance that it considers logical and «just». It claims that La Ferme du CBD's marketing tactics mislead customers into believing they are buying CBD products directly from a farm. Hemp insists that it is CBD growers who are being harmed by the actions of The CBD Farm.
Chanvre du Griffoul has received support from colleagues in the area who have also received emails from CBD Farm's legal department. They are appealing for documents and evidence to build a strong case against the company.
They see this trial as an opportunity to shed light on the appropriation methods employed by CBD Farm, and to demand justice against what they perceive as a liberal monster. They express their determination and confidence that the case will go forward.
When contacted, Ferme du CBD told us that they considered themselves «[victims] of abuses that we have denounced, after having tried in vain to resolve this problem amicably. We are now letting the courts do their work, and will respect the court's sovereign discretion. While we await the verdict, we can only deplore the strategy of denigration and defamation put in place by Chanvre du Griffoul, which aims to harm us. We are, of course, in favor of competition, provided it is fair.»
