Dan Cretu: an artist inspired by marijuana

The Romanian artist Dan Cretu has made a name for himself by posting his eccentric creations on social media. His sculptures, which depict everyday objects, are delicate, fun, and very colorful. And if you look closely, you’ll see they’re made of fruits and vegetables. He’s turned lemons into bicycles, bacon into chewing gum, and cabbages into brains.

Dan Cretu rarely opens up, and he never explains his work. In an interview with the Daily Mail, he also says that viewers imagine far more from his works than he does, and that it’s probably better that way. One of his most recent sources of inspiration is the weed, through three themes:
