But who made this Mothership crop circle?
Mothership Glass, the famous brand of glass bubblers, is better known for its overpriced pieces than for making crop circles, geometric figures made in grain fields and long mistaken for extraterrestrial creations. Who could have done this?
This surprising crop circle appeared in the English countryside in the middle of Wilthsire at the beginning of August. And it's doubly surprising because it's an exact replica of the Mothership Glass logo. Could it be a seal of approval from our highly evolved extraterrestrial neighbors? Or a commission from the Washington glassmaker?
We'll probably never know the answer, but this crop circle is undoubtedly unique. Many theories have surrounded the creation of crop circles, ranging from geometric wind effects to physical manifestations of human energy. In 1991, two men admitted to being behind the first crop circles in the UK. Others followed and continued the work of these crop circles.
The most fervent defenders of extraterrestrial crop circles argue that we can't tell the difference between human and «normal» circles. Adding to the mystery is the fact that the circles always appear at night, and their creation has never been recorded.
The Mothership logo is normally surrounded by the letters of its name. In the crop circle, these letters have been replaced by signs that are less obvious, but which can be found on some of the brand's recent glassware.
The symbol used on the basic logo, the trillium leaf, is an ancient symbol used throughout history and religious scripture to symbolize victory and protection. It has been used on other circles, but never in this specific arrangement. The three-pointed leaf can also symbolize «the opening of the spiritual world and higher mental forces through plants, mushrooms, etc... It's an old secret hidden in all cultures», according to one of the authors. contributor to the Crop Circle Connector website.
Many crop circle enthusiasts recognized that Mothership Glass had most likely inspired the creation of this circle. But why would an American company create a crop circle in the middle of the English countryside? Only E.T. knows.
