Strain Hunters Coffeeshop

Strain Hunters Coffeeshop (formerly 420 Coffeeshop and Dutch Flowers) is located on Singel in the heart of Amstedam.

The flower market (Bloemenmarkt) is just a few minutes' walk away. The outdoor area features a number of tables and seats overlooking the Singel Canal, one of the most pleasant places to sit on a sunny day. The coffee shop is close to many trendy stores, restaurants and cafés.

This little café is halfway between a neighborhood café and an art café. For one thing, the interior features lots of wood... dark wood floors, wainscoting, coffee tables and flip-up stools. In the back corner, you'll even find two rows of old fold-down seats, presumably from a cinema. These features seem to contrast with the store's modern fixtures and counter.

The Strain Hunters Coffeeshop has a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. It's also very open-plan, thanks in no small part to the large windows, which let in plenty of natural light. A large double-sash window even opens up at the front, which they take full advantage of on warm sunny days. You can sit inside, but feel as if you're practically on the canal. They usually have tables and chairs at the front too.

The Strain Hunters cannabis menu is just like the other Green House coffeeshops: a mix of proprietary strains and quality imports from Morocco and other regions. They also offer a few pre-rolled joint options.
