Baga Boissons successfully crowdfunds
Baga, a young company based in Bordeaux, has developed soothing beverages, ideal for everyday well-being, made from CBD made in New Aquitaine. The start-up has launched a crowdfunding campaign to market its bottles throughout the Bordeaux CHR (cafés-hotels-restaurants) network by the end of the year.
And to say that the initiative worked would be an understatement: crowdfunding almost immediately reached 100% and now exceeds 150%.
BAGA, boldness in a bottle
After almost 10 months in development, Bordeaux-based start-up Baga unveils its range of soothing drinks combining plant extracts and fruity flavors. All recipes contain microencapsulated cannabidiol, known as CBD, for a taste of serenity. An unusual ingredient, which Baga founders Gaspard & Antoine are keen to promote.
«Cannabinoids are not water-soluble, so a fatty substance is needed to release the CBD. So we had to develop an encapsulation technique which consists in creating water-soluble capsules in the drink in which we enclose the CBD using natural food emulsifiers», explains Antoine Grenier, co-founder of Baga.
The range is available in three flavours: White Peach - Verbena, Raspberry - Lemon Balm and Apple Kiwi - Chamomile. Herbal teas, renowned for their soothing effect, add fragrance and reinforce CBD's relaxing action, while fruity flavours add a touch of indulgence.
The crowdfunding objective was to reach 200 pre-sales in 1 month, a milestone already reached! There are still 18 days to go, so why not top the 200% mark?
