Amendment tabled to include medical cannabis in the PLFSS 2025
After 3 years of experimentation and a one-year extension obtained by amendment to the PLFSS 2024, experimentation with medical cannabis had once again «forgotten» in the PLFSS 2025.
An amendment to the PLFSS 2025 attempts to correct this «oversight», which would leave just under 2,000 people without treatment, even though they already no longer have, and will no longer have, flowers to treat themselves.
Submitted by Ensemble pour la République MPs Michel Lauzzana (Lot-et-Garonne) and Jean-François Rousset (Aveyron), with the help of Health France Cannabis, the amendment (PDF here) proposes in its presentation to extend the experiment by 6 months and in its content «until a drug is authorized and available [...] and by December 31, 2025 at the latest».
The presentation of the amendment politely reminds us that medical cannabis should already be in general use by March 2023.
But inaction on the part of governments and from DGS, as well as blockades by the Ministry of the Interior and Mildeca have jeopardized the widespread use of medical cannabis, which now survives only by extending its use.
The fate of the amendment will be decided at the first reading of the PLFSS 2025, which begins on Monday, October 28, 2024. Patients, on the other hand, will have to wait and see.

Hello,
If the proposal passes into the PLFSS 2025, it's really not great for medical cannabis.
If it's not extended, politically it's unjustifiable and even a help, because the pressure will be enormous and it will be difficult to continue justifying the non-adoption of medical cannabis, which could even precipitate its adoption.
But if it is prolonged, it is in reality a catastrophe, because they can freeze medical cannabis like that for very long years... With ever more bogus pretexts: «we need time to know if cannabis is a useful medicine, we need suppliers but as it is illegal we don't have any... etc etc.... »
Because when you read the proposed amendment, all it proposes is to change the dates, it's simply a proposal to freeze medical cannabis indefinitely, year after year, especially when you know that it's proposed by the majority, they know very well what they're doing...
