According to Rick Simpson, THC is a medical treatment
Rick Simpson, creator of his own cannabis oil, claims that the healing benefits of his oil are due to THC, not CBD.
In an interview with Cannabis.net, the canna-healer says that the high THC content of his oil is the reason for his success. As a reminder, THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid grass.
Yet most cannabis-based medicines promote the use of CBD to treat ailments. Epileptic seizures, headaches and arthritis are all treated with CBD in the USA. L’Rick Simpson's cannabis oil would contain more than 50% of THC and 10 to 15% of CBD when the CBD oils contains only 4% of CBD and less than 0.2% of THC.
In this interview, Rick Simpson states that the cancers cured by his oil are also cured by the euphoric effect it produces. In fact, the sensation of lightness experienced after ingestion acts like a placebo, making patients forget their illness.
Confession and anger of an exile
Following his legal troubles with the Canadian justice system, Rick Simpson was banned from Canada and the United States. That's why he went into exile in Croatia, a country that claims to be one of the most most liberal in Europe on the issue of cannabis.
He takes this opportunity to remind us of the long history of cannabis treatments. For him, the development of medical treatments is being slowed down by pharmaceutical companies. He declares that this plant has been «man's best friend since the dawn of time». For example, the use of cannabis treatments is recorded in a Chinese pharmacopoeia dating back to 2900 BC.
Rick Simpson advocates self-medication, so that everyone can create their own oil with their own plants and their own dosages. He also accuses the American and Canadian governments of monetizing a plant that grows naturally. An entire industry in need of overhaul?
