Marina Carrère d'Encausse in favor of legalizing cannabis
Marina Carrère d’Encausse, host of «Magazine de la Santé» and «Monde en Face» on France 5, has come out in favor of legalizing cannabis.
A prominent figure in the television industry is taking a stand in favor of the cannabis legalization. This Sunday, June 12, 2016, on the set of Tea or Coffee, Marina Carrère d’Encausse presses the’the ineffectiveness of prohibition on consumption.
Doctor and co-host of *Magazine de la Santé* for the past 18 years alongside Michel Cymes, she admits to being in « disagreement with the behavior of certain doctors who continue to hide behind a certain body of knowledge, that is not close enough to their patients, and who still refuse to acknowledge that patients need to turn to complementary medicine in addition to their conventional treatment, because it brings them relief.».
During the interview, Catherine Ceylac asks a series of «for or against» questions when the topic of "for or against the legalization of cannabis" comes up.
Response from the Lady Health from the PAF: « I think there's a the complete failure of our policies in France. ». Cannabis is technically banned, but more and more young people are smoking it." before adding «Legalizing it would allow us to monitor what young people are smoking and thus to control the product itself. This would make it possible to run effective public awareness campaigns on cannabis, similar to those we run for tobacco or alcohol—something we’re not doing today.»
Cigarette smokers, on the other hand, will not be pleased with Ms. Carrere d’Encausse’s position. She has, in fact, endorsed the Australian-style pack priced at €16.
