The Acabada brand launches a line of CBD-infused sportswear
The Acabada ProActiveWear brand has just announced the launch of a line of sportswear infused with CBD. The press release indicates that the range will be limited edition for the time being, although additional collections with new pieces will be launched in October.
Born in 2019, Acabada is the world's first and only CBD sportswear brand for sporty women. Acabada's first ProActiveWear line includes sports bras, tops, leggings, shorts, jackets and jumpsuits, all designed to be worn day or night. «Our clothing range has been designed for the active woman, allowing her not only to work out in fashionable styles, but also to go about her day in luxurious, breathable fabrics that move with her,» said Katrina Petrillo, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Acabada ProActiveWear. Prices start at 120$ for sports bras and tank tops, 160$ for leggings and 250$ for jackets and pantsuits.
Using a microencapsulation process, garments are impregnated with CBD molecules, enveloping microscopic droplets of hemp-derived CBD (THC-free) directly into the tissue. The microcapsules are strategically placed to align with the muscles, and each rubbing action releases the molecule into the body. CBD then interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), to help regulate and reduce pain and inflammation caused by physical activity.
Each Acabada garment contains up to 25 grams of THA-certified 99.9% pure CBD, which will allow the effects of CBD to last for around 40 high-intensity wash cycles. When the garments no longer have any effect, customers can choose to recycle them sustainably, as part of Acabada's recycling program, in which synthetic fabrics will be reused as commercial materials. With this program, customers will also benefit from an exclusive 30% discount on their next Acabada ProActiveWear purchase.
The garments are designed in New York, and manufactured in Portugal. «Just as CBD is infused into our sportswear, the letters CBD are in our name, «aCaBaDa». Acabada also comes from the Portuguese word for «finish», «Acabar», perfectly telling that our fabrics have been finished with CBD,» said CEO Seth Baum.
