VICELAND hosts Weed Week from April 17
VICELAND, Vice’s television division, is hosting its Weed Week from April 17 to 21, a week dedicated to cannabis and timed to coincide with a date cherished by cannabis users, April 20. Weed Week celebrates the cultural aspects of cannabis worldwide and aims to entertain and educate its audience about the plant.
To mark the occasion, the channel—available exclusively on Canal in France—is bringing back two of its most popular series: WEEDIQUETTE and F*CK THAT’S DELICIOUS, along with a special 4/20 feature. It will also air the French premiere of BONG APPETIT on Monday, April 17, at 9 p.m.
Since the first round of the presidential election will begin a week later, VICELAND also plans to provide an overview of the various candidates’ positions on the legalization of cannabis in France, and will air several profiles of French citizens sharing their views on the same topic.
Weed Week is broadcast internationally on all VICELAND channels in the United Kingdom, France, Australia, New Zealand, and the Benelux countries. The United States, meanwhile, gets special programming, given its more cannabis-friendly laws. Weed Week ads are actually pretty unimaginable in France right now—for example, a storefront filled with (fake) weed buds and a scent diffuser that will inevitably remind passersby of cannabis aromas.
