Fila brings out Tupac's favorite sneakers
Good news for sneaker fans and Tupac fans alike! The famous sneakers that American rapper Tupac Shakur wore in 1996 are making a comeback. The Fila 96GL was one of the most popular sneaker models back when the West Coast rapper was in the spotlight.
They became famous when Tupac wore them on his album cover All Eyes on Me, his fourth album, released in February 1996. It was also his last album, as he was murdered six months later in Las Vegas at the age of 25. Those who were in middle school in the 1990s surely remember how envious they felt when they saw someone else wearing those shoes.
The sneakers were designed by NBA player Grant Hill. They will be available in three colorways. With Adidas Stan Smiths seemingly everywhere these days, will Fila manage to make a comeback on the sneaker scene?
No release date for the sneakers has been announced yet. Stay tuned.
