Oregon: a campsite just for stoners
Grow Condos, a company that originally leased cultivation space to cannabis farmers, now wants to offer a haven for cannabis smokers and tourists. The Oregon-based company will be renting out plots of land where nature, smoking, mates and relaxation can become one.
In Oregon, cannabis has been sold legally since 2014, however smokers have nowhere to go to smoke their legal superweed. Grow Condos, which specializes in framing Cannabis, is now offering a campsite dedicated to weed smokers. Called Smoke In the Water, this campsite combines cannabis and relaxation on the shores of a lake. Rates have yet to be announced.
A well-calculated business plan
While smoking is banned in national parks, landowners can allow cannabis consumption. Grow Condos CEO Wayne Zallen was quick to sniff out a bargain. He bought several parcels of land on the shores of Selmac Lake. While tourism companies were already offering «cannabis tours», there are now few people offering "cannabis tours". grass camps. At present, the company owns around 1,500m² of land on the shores of Lake Selmac.
The company has banked on smokers' desire for escape and simplicity. After filling up at local dispensaries, this lake, more than a 4-hour drive from Portland, allows consumers to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city without becoming hermits.
In fact, Grow Condos understands that the supply of grass is one of the keys to the park's success. To counter a possible lack of substance on the part of customers, the company has just opened a production site called Nuggetville in Eugene, the last «big» town before the park. Local growers will rent production space at Grow condos in the 5,000 square meter warehouse.
The company hopes to set up other campsites of this type in the near future. American states where recreational cannabis is legalized.
