Mother and son create a «reverse edible» to mitigate the effects of cannabis
The legalization of cannabis in Massachusetts has led a growing number of people to experiment with cannabis and its derivatives. Unfortunately, this experimentation can sometimes be accompanied by unexpected and unpleasant side-effects, such as an overly strong effect, anxiety or paranoia.
A Boston-based mother-son duo has developed a potential solution called Soft Landing. Eli Stoloff, a recent Cornell University graduate, describes the product as a edible reversed: unlike traditional edibles that get consumers stoned, Soft Landing brings them down.
Stoloff explains that during his time at Cornell, he heard stories of students using edibles with no way of quickly coming down from the euphoric state they were in. Visit edibles, These include cannabis-infused foods such as candies or the famous space cake, They take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to take effect, and can spread their influence for up to 4 hours, leaving some people either astonished at how long it takes to go up, or lost when it doesn't come down.
A chocolate bar to bring you down
Stoloff and her mother, Alice Stone, have created a chocolate bar that enables cannabis users to better control their euphoric state. Ms. Stone, an entrepreneur specializing in alternative healing methods, came across a medical journal article describing a natural molecule found in various herbs and spices, which could, for example similar to the effect of black pepper on highs a little too powerful, known to reverse the effects of THC.
«After many attempts and adjustments, we have arrived at the final formula that effectively delivers the maximum amount of this molecule,» Stoloff told CBS News Boston.
To validate their product, they conducted a medical survey on Soft Landing, which revealed that 80% of those surveyed rated it as «effective» or «very effective».
Sean Hope, interviewed by CBS News Boston, became an investor after trying chocolate himself. He said he felt balanced and experienced immediate effects. He concluded that it worked.
Stoloff and Stone are convinced they have discovered the right formula for success. Says Stoloff: «I believe we have a winning product and that together we can achieve great things.
Soft Landing is about to enter the Massachusetts market and is actively seeking additional investment to increase production.
