Four partnership agreements were signed on Friday evening in Tangier, on the sidelines of the 1st International Conference on Therapeutic and industrial potential of hemp in Morocco.
Organized by the Moroccan Consultative Association for the Use of Cannabis (AMCUC), this conference, held from October 22 to 24, aimed to examine the therapeutic potential and industrial uses of hemp, and to exchange experiences and expertise in this field.
The AMCUC took the opportunity to sign four partnership agreements with three national research structures, with a view to strengthening and developing scientific research on cannabis and its derivatives.
The first agreement, signed by the president of the AMCUC, Redouane Rabii, and the president of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, Bouchta El Moumni, aims to develop, in a real and practical way, scientific research on cannabis and its derivatives.
Signed by Mr. Rabii and the representative of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services (CCIS) of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, Anouar Arbai, the second convention aims to support and accompany initiatives that promote the industrial and therapeutic use of cannabis in the region.
Regarding the third partnership agreement, signed between Mr. Rabii and the Director of the National Agency for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (ANPMA), Abdelkhalek Farhat, its objectives are to conduct in-depth research on cannabis and its derivative products, and to train farmers within the framework of the «Kif Takwin» training project, launched by the association, to develop the learning level of beneficiaries and promote the modernization of agriculture.
The 4th convention, signed by Mr. Rabii and the representative of the Mascir Foundation (Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science Innovation and Research) Ikram Ganet, for her part, aims to develop strategic research axes to best exploit the potential of cannabis in Morocco.
