Syndicat France Police outlines three solutions for combating drugs (including legalization)

In a post of May 31, 2018, the right-wing Syndicat France Police takes note of the failure of public policy on drugs in France.

Based on the latest INSEE figures, i.e. 2.7 billion euros generated by drug sales in France, the union has drawn 4 conclusions:

• Drug use in France is not marginal and affects the whole population
• The French state gets nothing from «criminal assets», «while the state doesn't hesitate to seize the accounts of modest French people to recover simple parking fines.»
• These «criminal assets» are likely to finance terrorism
• «The state has lost the war against drug trafficking».»

The Syndicat France Police therefore proposes 3 solutions:

«1° The Indonesian method (without capital punishment) of systematically incarcerating traffickers for very long sentences, with seizure of all the criminal assets of the convicted person and their relatives.

2° Legalize all drugs and strictly regulate their sale and use. The state becomes the dealer.

3° Do nothing and turn a blind eye, while strongly condemning trafficking. This is France's historic policy on this issue.»

This is the first time that a French police union has talked about legalizing drugs to combat drug trafficking.

The union concludes its post by noting that the emphasis on police seizures is only there to claim the effectiveness of French anti-drug policies, despite figures to the contrary, an analysis we share. in our last editorial.
