Himalayan Made, crowdfunding hemp backpacks
Himalayan Made is a French brand of bags and accessories designed entirely by hand, using Nepalese hemp fibers and vegetable dyes. The company works locally with Local Woman's Handicraft (LWH), a collective based in Kathmandu that helps disadvantaged women regain their autonomy and a decent life.
Himalayan Made launches its latest crowdfunding collection on KissKissBankBank. It has already reached its funding target of 100%, but donations beyond this will be used to finance the Menstruation Program from LWH, which enables underprivileged Nepalese women to receive free sanitary kits for use during their periods. For each bag purchased, Himalayan Made also donates one euro to the Himali association, which helps Nepal's underprivileged children by providing housing, schooling and medical care.
You can find their ethically-sound ecological bags at directly on their website.
