«High et Fines Herbes», the melted recipes of two Belgian rappers
Belgian rappers JeanJass and Caballero will take to the stage in a web series called «High et Fines Herbes». The show will show Internet users how to make cannabis-infused dishes and will go online on Thursday, April 20 to celebrate 4/20. The producers have confirmed that the series will consist of 5 x 9-minute episodes. Both rappers will use «relatively expensive and rare» varieties in their joints and food.
Pompous recipes for weed
The teaser for the episode airing tomorrow promises some killer punchlines in the tone of a guy who's had a little. The two artists, surrounded by their gang of buddies, already seem to have mastered recreational cannabis consumption. It remains to be seen whether they'll be just as effective at explaining spicy recipes.
In any case, High et Fines Herbes promises to appeal directly to cannabis consumers with the soul of a cook. Let's hope they'll show how they feel after the cannabis-infused dish has been fully digested, so that the dosage of space food can be accurately explained. When ingested, cannabis has the following effects slower and more unpredictable than with a joint. Will their concept of »eating and smoking weed while having a laugh» fly under the censors' radar?
Would such a program be possible on our side of the border? Les Recettes Pompettes de Monsieur Poulpe, featuring alcohol consumption, drew the wrath of the CSA for «propaganda in favor of alcohol». So with an illegal substance... Which didn't stop Monsieur Poulpe from «smoking a joint» with Guillaume Canet during another episode of the same show.
Inseparable
Caballero and JeanJass are also due to release a second album together: Double Hélice 2,available on May 16. The two Belgian artists will be on hand at Montpellier's Rockstore on April 27 for a 100% Belgian rap evening.
