Green Fields uses Fluence VYPR lighting to produce high-quality crops all year round
Israel's largest cannabis farm uses LED technology from REMY and Fluence to improve control over its cultivation process and ensure consistent growth throughout the year
AUSTIN, Texas, and ROTTERDAM, Netherlands–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Fluence, a leading global provider of energy-efficient LED lighting solutions for commercial cannabis and food crop production, today announced the success of its partnership with Green Fields, an Israeli producer operating Israel’s largest cannabis farm. Thanks to Fluence’s technology, Green Fields has increased its yields, improved THC and terpene content, and achieved consistent crop growth year-round at its facilities, which span more than 42,000 square meters.
Green Fields collaborated with REMY, Fluence’s Israeli distribution and integration partner, to select the VYPR 3p lighting fixtures. Equipped with BROAD R3 spectrum technology, these fixtures provide a spectrum designed to enhance and replicate natural sunlight within its greenhouses. Combined with the facility’s F-CLEAN™ technology—a fluoropolymer film that transmits the full spectrum of natural sunlight during the day—the VYPR 3p fixtures enable Green Fields to optimize lighting conditions for maximum crop growth year-round.
«I believe every cannabis grower needs the «golden triangle»—that is, the best grow setup, the best genetics, and the best team members and partners,» said Lior Pisso Saada, founder and business development advocate at Green Fields. “Consistency is crucial, and that’s the most significant improvement we’ve achieved thanks to Fluence’s LED technology. Our plants now grow just as consistently in winter as they do in summer.”
Each zone of the Green Fields model greenhouse is equipped with a special air-handling unit that stabilizes humidity, temperature, and air circulation to reduce microclimates and improve uniformity. The team in charge uses innovative monitoring technology to control other critical aspects of crop production, including root zone management and irrigation. Experts from REMY and Fluence’s in-house team of horticultural lighting specialists assist Green Fields’ agronomy team in adjusting and optimizing light intensity, photoacclimation, pest control, irrigation strategies, and the management of mother plant stock.
«To grow on this scale, we need three things: a high level of control, data, and a strong team,» said Yarden Roitemberg, chief agronomist at Green Fields. “Fluence and REMY offer us much more than just LED technology: they are true partners who provide comprehensive horticultural services and advice.”
Green Fields’ greenhouses are equipped with the largest agronomic lighting system ever installed in Israel. Since installing Fluence lamps, Green Fields has been harvesting 15 to 18 metric tons of cannabis per year.
«We are honored that Green Fields has placed its trust in REMY as a leading provider of comprehensive solutions for what is now Israel’s largest cannabis facility,» said Elad Toby, founder, director of business development, and chief technology officer at REMY. “We knew that our expertise in the planning, installation, integration, and quality assurance of agronomic lighting solutions, combined with Fluence’s cutting-edge technology and in-house horticultural services, was the best combination to provide Green Fields with the configuration, data, and knowledge needed to grow with confidence.”
«The Green Fields team’s determination to overcome obstacles and improve the quality of medical cannabis greenhouse production in Israel is extraordinary,» said Jörg Meyer-Brenken, Senior Account Manager for Cannabis in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Fluence. “Whether you’re interacting with management, the cultivation team, or the marketing team, you can always feel the passion that drives them. I’m very pleased to see Green Fields thriving and collaborating with our team to expand its operations into other regions and new markets.”
