Fluence launches SHYFT, a lighting programmer with best-in-class photoacclimatization technology that lets growers control lighting conditions
SHYFT is an electronic lighting control system that automates Fluence’s entire line of LED products and enables growers to optimize any type of growing environment
AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Fluence, a leading global provider of energy-efficient LED lighting solutions for commercial cannabis and food production, announced today the launch of SHYFT Light Scheduler (SHYFT), an easy-to-use lighting automation tool that enables growers to exercise expert-level control over their growing environments.
In an industry where margins are notoriously tight, growers must take advantage of every opportunity to improve environmental management, boost performance, and reduce operating costs. SHYFT is a waterproof, user-friendly, wall-mounted device featuring patented photoacclimation technology that allows growers to simultaneously automate, control, and monitor lighting conditions across multiple facilities. SHYFT also allows growers to configure and replicate specific growing conditions to help them maximize yields and increase the number of growth cycles per season.
«Every Fluence product is designed to help growers farm smarter,» said David Cohen, CEO of Fluence. “To do this, we not only manufacture best-in-class lighting products that increase yields and efficiency, but we also create products like SHYFT, which enable growers to manage their lighting systems more efficiently and precisely.”
Compatible with Fluence’s entire range of LED lighting technologies, SHYFT is designed to withstand a wide range of operating temperatures and humidity levels and can be mounted directly in any growing environment. The product’s photoacclimation and photoperiod modes adjust the intensity and duration of the light provided, enhancing growth while protecting plant health. SHYFT can also be installed with the DC Flex Dimming cable or Wireless Flex Dimming, a revolutionary solution based on Bluetooth Mesh technology that allows wireless adjustment of lighting levels for Fluence fixtures using any standard 0-10V dimmer or environmental controller.
«Fluence’s team of scientists and lighting experts works closely with our network of growers to determine what growers need to maximize both their crop performance and operational efficiency,» said Jordon Musser, Director of Products at Fluence. “Farmers of all sizes have told us how important it is to optimize yield consistency through planning. And that’s exactly what SHYFT does—it allows you to adapt the growing environment to suit the different stages of growth.”
The SHYFT system helps small producers transition to automated planning and helps large producers eliminate unnecessary integration costs associated with more complex control systems.
SHYFT is currently available only in North America. For more information about SHYFT, as well as Fluence and its extensive portfolio of lighting fixtures and controls, visit www.fluence.science.
