Raw cannabis, like anything else, is a plant in its natural, unaltered form. In the case of cannabis, the term «raw» refers to plant material that may have been harvested but not dried, treated, heated or processed in any way.
Find out more about raw cannabis
Raw cannabis is said to contain a range of beneficial nutrients, including proteins, fatty acids, minerals and essential vitamins. Some sources even call cannabis a superfood, prompting aficionados to add leaves and flowers (again, unprocessed and undried) to salads, smoothies and juices. Before being heated, cannabis contains cannabinoid acids, which are the precursors of cannabinoids that interest most people when they use cannabis.
THC, CBD and other cannabinoids are not present in raw cannabis, so its consumption will not result in the high THC or relaxation that many equate with CBD consumption.
