Bural'Zen launches a range of French hemp CBD

Faced with falling sales due to higher tobacco prices, some tobacconists are now diversifying their activities by offering French hemp in their shops.

The «Buralistes en colère» association was created to defend tobacconists through media and digital actions. For the past 1 month, the association has been selling CBD hemp to interested tobacconists, under the Bural'Zen range. New today: As of today, Bural'Zen offers French CBD hemp, grown in the Vaucluse region of France. Eric Hermeline, president of the association, was kind enough to answer our questions.

How do you see the sale of hemp by tobacconists?

We see the sale of hemp as a way of revitalizing the tobacconist's trade, which has been particularly affected by anti-smoking policies. According to the confederation of tobacconists, the €10 pack could cost us 5,000 colleagues. What's more, we're seeing a change in our customers' image of us, one that's more positive and modern, not to mention the fact that many of our customers are opening up the debate, which livens up our outlets.

When did you decide to sell these products, which French law considers illegal?

We made the decision during a trip to Switzerland at the end of 2017. We have contacted several lawyers specializing in international and European Union law in case of any problems.

Do you plan to sell other CBD products such as oils, sprays or edibles?

Yes, we're thinking about essential oils, hemp beer or CBD vape liquids.

How many points of sale are involved?

60 - 70 points of sale at present.

Is Bural'Zen just for tobacconists? And «angry tobacconists»?

To tobacconists yes, angry or not 🙂

What are the recommendations for consumption?

Leave to infuse for 10 minutes in hot milk. We are not selling a therapeutic product, nor a product to be consumed in combustion.

What flavors can be found in the Dioica to be sold?

We're on notes of limonene, citrus-dominant with a woody 2nd reading.

Are you in favor of further legislation on recreational cannabis, and if so, what do you think of the role tobacconists should play in selling cannabis with THC?

Yes, of course. Our role will be that assigned to us by the legislator, even if we are opposed to having a monopoly or exclusivity on this product.

Do the latest raids on stores selling CBD cannabis flower compromise the launch and marketing of Bural'Zen?

No, this doesn't change anything for Bural'Zen. We've been selling this product for almost 1 month now. This week's launch concerns only a hemp harvested by a hemp grower in Vaucluse.
