Bedrocan develops its medical cannabis vaporizer
In a press release of the day, Dutch medical cannabis producer Bedrocan has announced the development of its cannabis vaporizer and the launch of tests with 20 patients.
An appeal was recently made in the Dutch media and via patient associations. Over 70 people applied for the study, which is designed to gather feedback on the ease of use of Bedrocan's new medical device. Their vaporizer will be marketed under the name Bedromedic®.
The aim of Bedromedic® is to enable healthy consumption of medical products based on Cannabis. By heating cannabis below its combustion temperature, i.e. less than 220°C, the active plant ingredients are released in the form of steam.
The patient then inhales this vapour, which is absorbed by the body through the lungs. The process does not involve smoking, and allows you to take advantage of the medical benefits of cannabis without the harmful products of combustion.
The study will be carried out by Bedrocan's Research & Development department, which has selected the participants in advance. Participants will be prescribed Bedrocan medical cannabis by their doctor, and must have been treated with cannabis for at least 6 months, without having any experience of vaporization. They will have to test Bedromedic® at home and then fill in an online satisfaction questionnaire.
