Australia to export medical cannabis
Australia announced today to become the 4th country to authorize the export of medical cannabis, after Canada, the Netherlands and Uruguay.
The country has legalized the therapeutic and scientific use of cannabis eFebruary 2016, Each province has its own legislation. The establishment of national cannabis cultures took some time, so that the first harvest of cannabis only arrived in August 2017. In the meantime, the country imported Canadian cannabis oil for children suffering from epilepsy and patients seeking to mitigate the side effects of chemotherapy.
Domestic production of Cannabis demand, but the government hopes that the announcement of future exports will also boost production for the country.
«Our goal is very clear: to give farmers and growers the best chance of becoming the world's largest exporter of medical cannabis,» Health Minister Greg Hunt told reporters in Melbourne. He also added that Australian growers will first have to satisfy local demand before they can export their crop.
