Xzibit sued for advertising THC cartridges with pesticides

American celebrities no longer shy away from promoting cannabis products, when they're not going on a green rush like Mike Tyson.

The former Pimp My Ride, Xzibit, for example, lent his image to the promotion of Brass Knuckles, a line of’THC eliquid. While he described the product as «completely free of pesticides and contaminants», the reality could be different.

According to TMZ, A consumer, Ignacio Lee, has filed a complaint against the manufacturer of Brass Knuckles and Xzibit for breach of warranty, false advertising, unfair competition, misunderstanding and adulteration of the products. cartridges of THC concentrate (tetrahydrocannabinol) brand Brass Knuckles following alleged pesticide contamination and inaccurate marketing claims concerning THC concentration in the product.

Ignacio began consuming Brass Knuckles cartridges in July 2016 and experienced various symptoms in 2017: fatigue, migraines, nausea, chest pains... which disappeared when he stopped consuming these products.

Ignacio then took the cartridges to an independent testing lab which has detected pesticide levels above the authorized limit (including bifenazate, etoxazole, myclobutanil, trifloxystrobin, permethrin, bifenthrin and carbary) and THC levels lower than advertised.

This isn't the first pesticide case in California involving cannabic products. The 2017 Emerald Cup saw 34 of 39 entries in the THC cartridge category refused due to this same type of contamination.

However, this is the first time a celebrity has been held responsible. Ignacio Lee is hoping for financial compensation and a halt to the promotion of Brass Knuckles products.
