Switzerland: Lidl stores now sell CBD cannabis
Lidl stores in German- and French-speaking Switzerland have been selling CBD cannabis flowers since April 19.
A company in the canton of Thurgau, The Botanicals, produces and supplies these dried flowers to the German brand. The cannabis is grown in partly automated, indoor greenhouses, without the addition of chemical or synthetic substances.
Flowers contain 0.8% of THC and more than 20% of cannabidiol (CBD). CBD cannabis is freely available in Switzerland, It has a THC limit of 1% and is sold as a tobacco substitute. 1.5g costs 18CHF, or €15, and 3g costs €17.
CBD cannabis cigarettes have been on sale since last July in Coop stores in Switzerland.
Could we imagine the same thing happening in France? On paper, yes, with varieties limited to 0.2% THC. In practice, it's more complicated 🙂
