Odezenne sticks to its «En L» clip»
Odezenne, a French alternative music group from Bordeaux, has been blending song and rap for the past 10 years. Their new album «Au Baccara» imposes its own style, but still with songs that continue to question the times and set as many scenes as they do titles. Self-proclaimed «botanical, romantic and pathetic music» on their Instagram account, Odezenne above all seem to be enjoying making music more and more - and everything elegantly conspires to create a new LP in which it's good to get lost. If their sound is evolving, it's to better explore and put everything back into play.
In the «En L» clip, the band evokes the collage of two sheets of paper. But also the omnipresence of violence and war in everyone's private life. Two lovers smoking joints in their bedroom, the world of war materialized by a mini army, invading their intimacy in a vain attempt to destroy the loving couple. Smoking to combat the violence and war that invite themselves into the intimacy of everyone in our contemporary societies. «Make love not war».
Between the verve of everyday life, the chiselled emotion of lyricists, and the dance rhythms of our electronic age, Odezenne, serene craftsmen of this eclecticism, continue their creative adventure without complexes.
Odezenne releases its next EP «Pushkin» on September 13, already available pre-order here.
Odezenne will play the Zenith in Paris on October 17, 2020. All info on their Facebook page or on their website.
