Norman Reedus, aka Daryl, launches crowdfunding for cannabis oil
Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Daryl in The Walking Dead series, is lending his support to the children of Cannakids. The character who soothes zombies at every turn is launching a Crowfunding campaign for sick children.
So far, not much to do with our beloved plant. Well, it does, because Cannakids is a Californian cooperative specializing in cannabis oils. This manufacturer of honey-flavored cannabis oils specializes in medical applications for children. Cannakids supplies children suffering from cancer, autism and Crohn's disease with solvent-free, pesticide-free cannabis oils. Currently, Cannakids is working to find the perfect dosages for its oils depending on the disease. The company is working in collaboration with Israel's Technion to determine the optimum cannabinoid concentration in oil for children.
To attract as many people as possible, Norman Reedus is mixing crowdfunding with a raffle. Anyone who puts $5 or more into crowdfunding could be drawn and receive prizes. Daryl offers products derived from his image, autographed by himself. In one week, the company reportedly collected over 15,000 $s. If the winners are drawn today, funding is still being accepted.
This crowdfunding initiative launched with Norman Reedus would reduce costs for parents, as cannabis treatments are not covered by American health insurance.
It should be noted, however, that it is legal to give cannabis oils to suffering children in California.
