Newsweed Launches Its Own AI
Newsweed is launching Newsweed AI, a chatbot that answers your questions about cannabis using only our articles.
Since 2015, Newsweed has published more than 7,000 articles on cannabis, covering topics such as regulations, CBD, medical cannabis, cultivation, the economy, and international news.
This abundance has a downside: when you want to understand a topic, you often have to open ten tabs, cross-reference information, and sort through recent and older content.
Newsweed AI was created to solve this problem.
Understanding a Topic at a Glance
The concept is simple: you ask a question in natural language, and Newsweed AI answers you by drawing on our entire editorial database. What is the current legal situation in a particular country? What is being said about the effects of CBD on sleep? What are the latest developments regarding medical cannabis in France?
No need to read five articles to get the gist: the assistant summarizes, puts things into context, and gives you the key points of a topic in just a few seconds. Those who want to dig deeper can then explore the articles themselves.
More than just a search engine
Newsweed AI is based on semantic search. Unlike traditional keyword search, it understands the meaning of your question. If you search for «Does THCV help with weight loss?», it doesn’t limit itself to articles that contain those exact words: it identifies those that actually address the topic, even if phrased differently.
It is both a smarter search engine and a summarization tool, combined into a single interface.
An assistant in a closed environment
This is the project’s fundamental principle: Newsweed AI relies solely on Newsweed’s content. It does not pull information from the web or generate content based on unverifiable sources. Its answers come from our editorial work—that of a newsroom that has been covering the industry for more than ten years.
In a field where inaccurate—or even misleading—information abounds, this closed framework offers assurance. You know where the answers come from: from Newsweed, and nowhere else.
Where can I find it?
Newsweed AI is now available in French and English. It can be accessed via the tooltip in the lower-right corner when browsing on a computer, and via the menu, article pages, and categories on all devices.
Are you reading an article and have a question? Just click to ask the assistant.
You can also go directly to newsweed.fr/ai.
Its limitations
Newsweed AI is still an AI: it can make mistakes, misinterpret a question, or miss a nuance. Its responses are summaries, not medical or legal advice. For any important decision, consult the cited articles and relevant professionals. And since it only knows Newsweed, it doesn’t know what we haven’t published.
Privacy
We only retain the questions asked and the answers provided; we do not store IP addresses or user IDs. This data is used for editorial purposes: a question that remains unanswered, or one for which the answer has a moderate confidence rating, indicates a topic we need to cover more thoroughly to better address what you’re really looking for.
