Nevada: $1 million worth of cannabis sold every day since legalization
6 months after‘Nevada legal cannabis sales open, the State is counting its money: more than 1 million dollars of cannabis has been sold on average each day.
According to official figures, Nevada had generated $195,467,170 in sales by December, with state revenue totaling $30,376,795. of the Local Public Treasury. This last figure breaks down into $10.8 million in wholesale sales tax and $19.5 million in retail sales tax.
December was the second-strongest month in terms of legal sales, with over 36 million units sold in Q4. The strongest month was October, with 38 million units sold.
Sales in the first few months far exceeded those in Colorado, Oregon, or Washington State, even though their launch was marred by several organizational issues.
Nevada was projected to collect $63.5 million in taxes during the first two years of legalization, a figure that is expected to be significantly surpassed.
