When Europe teaches us to make hashish
A short video, spotted by VOC Nederland, a Dutch anti-prohibition association, has resurfaced.
Amazing: EU agency releases instruction video on how to make hash, using traditional or modern techniques!@badlin @dwdd @HumbertoTan https://t.co/B90593Ar4d
- VOC Nederland (@vocnederland) October 21, 2016
Produced by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, a Lisbon-based European Union agency whose aim is «to provide the EU and its member states with a broad, factual view of European drug-related problems and solid evidence to support the drugs debate», the video is almost a tutorial that would answer the question « how to make hashish« .
This video is obviously purely informational, and seeks neither to promote cannabis consumption nor to advertise a product that is still largely banned in Europe. It is, however, 1,000 leagues away from the «drugs are bad, m'kay» videos or the rhetoric of French politicians.
Instead, she proposes to explore different techniques for making hashish, These range from the more traditional sieve and press methods to more modern ones.
Today, it's hard to imagine the French Ministry of Health or MILDECA producing such a video. The video, posted 4 months ago, has so far only garnered 5,000 views, but we have no doubt that in the long term, Internet users will consult it more massively.
And if EMCDDA is ever looking for other topics, we've got a few ideas 😉
