Coffeeshops coming soon to Luxembourg?
Is Amsterdam about to make a splash? Luxembourg is planning to open coffeeshops.
Luxembourg's Members of Parliament have ruled that according to L'Essentiel a petition calling for the opening of coffeeshops in the Grand Duchy. The text must now be validated by the Conference of Presidents (a meeting of the presidents of the various committees and groups) and then collect 4,500 signatures in 6 weeks, before a public debate is organized in the Chamber of Deputies.
The idea behind the petition is to authorize the sale of cannabis for adult use within a specific framework, that of coffeeshops as in the Netherlands.
The Luxembourg should soon legalize medical cannabis, as announced at the end of last year.
