Carlos Santana launches his own cannabis brand

Carlos Santana, guitarist of the band of the same name, will be launching Mirayo by Santana, its brand of cannabis with three «varieties or categories of consciousness». The name is a combination of «my» and «ray» in Spanish, which Santana says will enable everyone to «follow their light».

«In my experience, cannabis has special properties that enhance meditative reflection and creative expression. It can dispel negative self-doubt to reveal the eternal gift of our uniqueness. With Mirayo, I hope to help people use cannabis as a gateway to more benevolent behavior like kindness and compassion,» said Carlos Santana in a press release.

Mirayo products will be available in packs of five pre-rolled 0.5g or one 7g jar, with the following varieties:

• Radiance A sativa designed to extend its energy outwards, reach divine wisdom and inspire creative expression.
• Symmetry A hybrid designed to harmonize inside and out, mind and body, for heightened perception.
• Centered An indica designed to lead users towards inner peace, insightful stillness and transcendence of the physical state.

Left Coast, the company that will supply Mirayo strains, had previously released cannabis brands with Mickey Hart, drummer of the Grateful Dead, and with Bob Marley's heirs. Brett Cummings, CEO of Left Coast Ventures, described it as 'an honor to create a brand with a musical legend who embraces ancient heritage, deep spirituality and self-discovery».

Mirayo will be distributed in selected dispensaries in Southern California and the San Francisco area.
