Monogram: Jay-Z launches his cannabis brand
Launched in 2019, the collaboration between Caliva and Jay-Z is paying off. He announced that he is launching his own cannabis brand, MONOGRAM, which for now is limited to his website and social media accounts.
«With its rigorous selection of strains, meticulous cultivation practices, and uncompromising quality, MONOGRAM seeks to redefine what cannabis means to consumers today,» the brand said. «To offer a more personalized customer experience, the brand will also launch via a premier e-commerce platform dedicated exclusively to its unique product line.».

No release dates for the products have been announced yet, nor have any retail locations or specific states been identified. Caliva, however, supplies more than 250 dispensaries in California.
Jay-Z joined Caliva in April 2019 as chief brand strategist.
«Everything I do, I want to do it right and at the highest level,» Jay-Z said at the time. «Given the immense potential of the cannabis industry, Caliva’s expertise and ethics make them the best partners for this venture. We want to create something extraordinary, have fun in the process, do good, and bring people along for the ride.»
To coincide with the launch of his brand, Jay-Z released a TIDAL playlist, Monogram: Sounds from the Grow Room, which features artists such as Fela Kuti, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Outkast, and Rihanna.
Jay-Z has taken sides on numerous occasions to highlight the harm caused by drug prohibition, particularly to disadvantaged people and those from minority groups.
