The international cannabis brand Cookies opened its first cannabis store in Asia this weekend in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
The launch of Cookies Thailand marks an important milestone for the brand, which is entering its sixth country and becomes the 58th Cookies store worldwide.
«The fact that my first trip to Asia is to open a Cookies store is something I never could have imagined, and it’s truly special,» said Berner, co-founder and CEO of Cookies.

As the first Cookies dispensary in Asia, the the brand's signature cultivars and products will be available for purchase, along with exclusive Cookies SF clothing and accessories.
To celebrate its grand opening, Cookies held an opening ceremony on Saturday, January 21, at 11 a.m. with Berner and celebrity guests, followed by a meet-and-greet with Berner. Traditional dancers, a blessing by a monk, Muay Thai fighters, and local and international visitors turned the opening of the Cookies store in Bangkok into a real celebration.

Opening of the Cookies store in Bangkok
For many members of Thailand’s cannabis community, the arrival of Cookies symbolizes both a legitimization of the newly legalized industry in what was once a state with harsh prohibitionist laws, as well as the fulfillment of a dream that had always seemed very distant.
«Having Cookies in Thailand validates all the hard work I’ve put in to help legalize cannabis in Thailand,» said Tom Kruesopon, founder of Golden Triangle Health, a Thai partner of Cookies Bangkok. «It makes it all feel real.».
Soranut Masayavanich, a charismatic and well-connected actor on the Thai entertainment scene whom everyone knows as Beer, is the CEO of Sukhumweed Industries and Local Growers Only, a Thai dispensary. He has worked with the Thai Parliament to help draft cannabis legalization legislation and is working with the Cookies team to supply the brand with locally grown cannabis.
«For 10 years, I’ve focused on just one thing,» he said. «Even though things have been tough, I’ve focused on just one thing. And now, Berner is here. I’m going to supply him with weed… Cookies is here. Thailand is safe now. Weed is definitely legal in Thailand.»
Visitors wishing to enter the Cookies Thailand store must be at least 20 years old and in possession of a valid Thai national ID card or foreign passport, and may not be pregnant, in accordance with local laws.
Cookies Thailand is located at 51/2 Soi Ruamrudee, Lumpinee, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330.
