Black The Ripper, English pro-weed rapper-militant
Black The Ripper, aka Ital Samson, is an English rapper who campaigns in his own way for the free use of cannabis.
His trip: lighting up big joints in public. In his Youtube videos, Black The Ripper and his mates smoke on London's Eye of London Ferris wheel, in fast-food restaurants, in stores, and even in the company of police officers. Through his movement Dank of England, he surfs on the lifestyle of continuous smoking and the weed-wear.
In an interview with Vice in 2016, Ital Samson explains his struggle: «I'm not a criminal, I haven't hurt anyone or stolen anything. It just smells like weed for 30 minutes. it's a plant (...) Not like cocaine and MDMA, which are synthetic, they're plants at heart, but to become synthetic, they require human intervention».
Following on from this interview, he declares »I'm not in denial. If you eat an eggplant and you don't feel well afterwards, you won't eat it again. It's the same with cannabis, if you smoke a spliff, with good weed with no shit in it, and you're unwell, cannabis just isn't for you. People go nuts over the stuff that's in street cannabis. It's not the weed itself, otherwise I'd be like them.»
For April 1st, he set up an ephemeral boutique where he sold his t-shirt collections. Motivated Stoner and Dank of England. According to Gloucestershirelive, all the young people in Gloucester had only Dank of England to the mouth.
Light Up Everywhere
The cannabic rapper is due to release a new album in two weeks's time, just in time for the 420.

His music reflects the environment in which he grew up. He expresses his views on poverty, religion and racism, incorporating autobiographical details of his own doubts and battles over ideas. His lyrics are often inspired by political or historical figures such as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Che Guevara or Haile Selassie I.
Beyond his extreme stance on weed, he's also part of an organization in Edmonton, a district of North London, which strives to ensure that funds earmarked for youth are well spent.
Black the Ripper produces and distributes his own albums, often judging them to be far better than his more commercial rivals.
