Tomawok, rendezvous with the apache!

If the name Tomawok doesn't ring a bell, you've probably missed out on a few Ganja Tunes that can't be ignored! To refresh your memory :
Since his first Street album in 2007, «Lyric Hall», Apache has not been idle. Over the course of 5 albums Tomawok introduces us to his world. Her latest album «Weedamuffin» has been available everywhere since 2015!
Between two concerts in Cambodia, Thomas had a moment to chat with Légalisation Douce! Let's find out more about his interview!
Hello Thomas, you released «Wakatanka» in 2012, featuring a Ganja Tune «La bonne solution» that racked up several million views. Did you expect this sound to be such a success?
Our goal was to get 20,000 views in just a few years. We had no budget, no script, so we just made do... and today we're approaching 6 million views! It's a wonderful surprise!
So you're a fervent advocate of the legalization of Cannabis for both medical and recreational purposes, but above all, you're passionate about Ganja?
I'm in favor of people being able to grow and smoke weed without any problems, quite simply... Otherwise, yes, since I was very young I've been passionate about ganja in all its forms, indoor and outdoor cultivation, dry extraction, Isolator, oil (RSO method), BHO, Marackech butter...
Joint, pipe, bong or vaporizer?
More like joints, and in 2nd place I'd say volcano!
What's the craziest place you've ever lit a joint?
On the roof of a hospital building the day after my operation for 2 herniated discs, I had climbed out of the window and when I finished my spliff I realized that it was almost impossible to get back to my room... In the end, I succeeded, but my back didn't like it too much...
Oh, and I smoked a spliff on Bob Marley's grave, since we always have one on hand in Jamaica...
You've always been self-produced. Today, more and more people have your sound on one of their Spotify playlists. Have you ever been interested in labels like Baco Records?
Let's just say that I've never really tried to sign to a label, and no label that might interest me has contacted me. I like the fact that I produce my own albums, I'm totally free. I'm not looking to rush things - signing for signing's sake, no thanks! I'm just waiting to find the right people and let things happen naturally.
What does the apache symbol represent for you?
The apache symbol represents my support for oppressed peoples in general, for minorities, for decimated peoples, for victims of genocide and therefore, for their descendants... whether white, black, yellow...
It also represents the wisdom of great chiefs, the bravery of warriors, respect for others... Respect for nature, for animals...
Your album Weedamuffin was released 1 year ago, and features Ganja tunes like ‘Kaliman’. An album that smells like flowers?
Yes, there are 4 big Ganja Tunes on the album: «Weedamuffin», «Kaliman», «Good ganja weed» and «My Jamaican herb» feat MAX ROMEO!
If we were to make predictions, when would you bet on legalization in France?
As I'm an optimist by nature, I'm going to say 2020!
What's the next big event where we can all come and see you and give you a big Big Up?
I'm on the road every weekend in France and around the world, but you can follow me on Facebook for all the latest news!
Last question: if you had to do a Featuring with a Frenchman for a Ganja Tune, which one would it be?
Big red or Yaniss Odua!
Interview conducted between concert dates during Tomawok's tour of Cambodia! At Légalisation Douce, we're a fan of the sound, the man and the values he distills through his music!
Big Up to you, Apache!
