Silent Seeds teams up with Julian Marley to launch 4 new varieties
Silent Seeds is preparing the launch of a long-awaited collaboration with Julian Marley, Grammy Award-winning reggae artist and son of Bob Marley. The project features four new cannabis strains developed in partnership with Marley's cultivation brand, Juju Royal powered by BioBizz.
The announcement was made at the Spannabis 2026 in Bilbao, one of Europe's leading cannabis industry events, and is distributed via the Silent Seeds online store and selected European retailers.
Collaboration based on culture, genetics and organic farming
This partnership brings together three distinct cannabis-related identities: Silent Seeds for breeding and genetics, Julian Marley as a cultural figure rooted in Jamaican heritage, and BioBizz as a major player in the field of inputs for organic farming.
The stated aim is to link the entire cultivation chain «from seed to harvest», combining genetics and cultivation products within a unified ecosystem. Marley's brand, Juju Royal powered by BioBizz, had already made a name for itself with its fertilizers and substrates for cannabis cultivation. This new launch marks the company's expansion into the field of genetics, thanks to Silent Seeds' expertise in breeding.
For Silent Seeds, this project is also part of a continuing strategy of high-profile collaborations. The company had already collaborated with French rapper Booba in 2022, and has launched collections with big names such as Sherbinski, Lemon Tree and recently Cookies. The partnership with Julian Marley marks a further step in the seed bank's positioning as both a genetics specialist and a culture-focused brand.
Four new varieties inspired by Jamaican spirit and American genetics
At the heart of the launch is a range of four varieties, each presented as a distinct «character» shaped by Jamaican influence, musical culture and the modern genetics of American cannabis.
The four varieties are :
- Julian Marley Special - Kush Mints × Apple Fritter
- King of Kings - OGKB × MAC Stomper
- Jamaican Mountain - High School Sweet Heart × Lemon Meringue
- Jamaican Sunset - Mendo Breath × Sunset Sherbet
These genetic associations suggest a clear direction towards high-end American lines, combining popular dessert-inspired taste profiles with modern trends in hybrid breeding.
Silent Seeds' growing influence on the European seed market
Founded only a few years ago on the ashes of Dinafem, Silent Seeds has already won 13 international awards, whose title of «Best Seed Bank 2025» during the Spannabis Champions Cup in Barcelona. The company promotes varieties such as Polar Gelato, Pink Sunset and B-45 as part of its move into the high-end genetic segment.
With the collaboration with Julian Marley, Silent Seeds seems to be betting even more on an approach that combines cannabis breeding with a cultural branding strategy, positioning genetics not only as agricultural products, but also as products lifestyle associated with global celebrities.
