Ryan Reynolds to produce stoner movie
The famous actor from Deadpool will produce a film called Stoned Alone, and potentially act in it. This comedy refers to Home Alone, probably the best-known Christmas film. It's possible that Ryan Reynolds will also take part in the filming as an actor, although this information will only be verified when the film is released, a date for which has not yet been announced.
The film's script, written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Midder, consists of a young loser in his twenties who misses his plane for a ski trip, so decides to stay at home and drool. What he didn't expect, however, was that burglars would arrive at his house, spoiling his smoke sesh.
This project, which is still in development, has all the ingredients to become a classic stoner film, joining the likes of Pineapple Express, How High, The Spoof Movie (not to be viewed before seeing Boyz ‘n the hood) and many more... The revival of the Home Alone should prove particularly profitable given the film's success at the time, grossing $450 million and remaining at the top of the box-office in Live action until the arrival of Very Bad Trip 2
What's more, films starring Ryan Reynolds tend to have a huge impact, thanks to the actor's popularity on social networks, his comedic talents and the image that has been created around him of a new generation of comedic actors.
The film Deadpool had grossed $1.5 billion, a rather tempting figure which led the producers to turn it into a franchise, with the arrival of Deadpool 2 this year, which despite its relative success still generated gross sales of 730 million euros.
Stoned Alone will be directed by Augustine Frizell, already known for the comedy Never Goin’ Back.
