Pharma Tech Holdings SA secures CHF 30 million capital commitment from global investor LDA Capital
LUGANO, Switzerland–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pharma Tech Holding SA («PTH») announced today that it has secured a capital commitment of 30 million CHF to support the portfolio investments of LDA Capital Ltd, a global investment group with expertise in cross-border transactions, particularly in the agriculture, agrotech, and CBD sectors.
Founded in 2019, PTH is a Swiss-based holding company that invests in innovative companies with high technological value and growth potential, primarily in Switzerland and Europe, and focuses its activities on health technologies, agrotechnology, and functional foods.
This investment will enable PTH to invest in and provide specific support to its portfolio company Blue Sky Swisse SA («BSS»), a joint venture between PTH and the publicly traded company IGEA PHARMA NV («Igea»), IGPH – ISIN NL0012768675. BSS specializes in extracting natural active ingredients from plant materials, plant waste, and renewable sources to offer B2B products in the form of CBD oil, terpenes, and waxes. The plant, located in Biasca, will be built using state-of-the-art supercritical CO₂ extraction technology and will be energy self-sufficient through the use of photovoltaic solar panels and district heating. BSS will offer the highest-quality CBD through a proprietary extraction process that begins with rigorous monitoring of agricultural practices and concludes with the immediate freezing of the flowers after harvest. The company also aims to sell «all-natural» formulations to increase bioavailability and, consequently, the number of possible applications. Finally, BSS will invest in the agricultural raw materials supply chain and establish an aeroponic greenhouse in the canton of Ticino to produce high-quality, GMP-certified pharmaceutical-grade CBD oil.
LDA Capital will commit a maximum of 30 million CHF in cash (the 'Capital Commitment») for a maximum term of three years. This Capital Commitment will be drawn down based on withdrawals made at PTH’s discretion.
«We are excited about this partnership and delighted that LDA Capital recognizes the value of PTH and its portfolio company in creating one of the most innovative hubs dedicated to health technologies, agrotechnology, and functional foods,» said Sabina Del Nigro, CEO of PTH.
