Luxury hotels add CBD to their menus
The explosion of the cannabidiol (CBD), with a market estimated at 2.1 billion by 2020 in the United States, has convinced some American hotels and restaurants to offer a whole range of CBD-infused products.
«We're always looking for new ways to help our customers relax,» he explains to Moneyish James La Russo, manager of the James Nomad hotel in New York. «CBD extracts have proven calming effects and ease anxiety and stress.».
The hotel is now offering a new wellness menu where all snacks are infused with 10 to 20mg of CBD per serving. Several other hotels, including the Standard Hotel (New York and Miami), the Hollywood Roosevelt and the Petit Ermitage (Los Angeles), have also added CBD-boosted meals, drinks and edibles to their menus.
As CBD is also effective when applied topically, spas and hotels are offering their clientele a variety of CBD-infused cosmetics. New York's James Nomad Hotel offers CBD-infused beauty products, including lip balms and facial lotions, while spas have added cannabis extract massages, which are also found in body care products.
«Since cannabis became legal in Colorado, many customers have asked us to add CBD to our treatments because they had heard about the benefits, and now I can say yes.» explains Nadene Moccia, spa manager at the Saint Julien hotel-spa in Boulder.
On the other hand, most hotels still prohibit the consumption of cannabis on their premises. With the arrival of CBD products, travelers will still be able to relax legally in the comfort of their hotel.
