June 17: 10th Cannabis Liberation Day in Amsterdam
On June 17, the Dutch association VOC Nederland, the Union for the Abolition of Cannabis Prohibition, is organizing the 10th edition of the Cannabis Liberation Day at Amsterdam's Flevopark.
To celebrate this 10th anniversary in style, the organization has planned :
- Dubioza Kolektiv and Le Peuple de l'Herbe in the line-up
- internationally renowned speakers such as Ed Rosenthal, Bulldog creator Henk de Vries, the Dagga Couple or Doug Fine, author of the excellent Too High to Fail
- the Cannabis Olympics, with 5 events that are anything but serious
In addition to the various artists and speakers, a hemp market and a cannabis university (with debates and workshops) will be set up alongside a Vape Lounge and culinary stalls.
The event is free and hopes to attract even more visitors than in previous years. Indeed, the Netherlands has chosen to move towards a test of regulated cannabis production. Dutch activists are keeping a close eye on its implementation and are calling for a massive citizens' rally.
The Cannabis Liberation Day has been celebrating international cannabis culture for the past 10 years, showcasing all that cannabis has to offer. The event campaigns for tolerance and the widespread use of hemp as a sustainable resource, while challenging the criminalization of the plant, its consumers, coffeeshops and growers.
