US congressional candidate smokes a joint

Illinois candidate for U.S. Congress Benjamin Thomas Wolf posted a photo of himself on Twitter calling for cannabis legalization while smoking a spliff.

«As a cannabis consumer, I think it's important that we come out of the closet and talk about this,» he told the Chicago Suntimes «We now realize that Cannabis can bring millions of dollars to the state, that it's medicine for millions of people in the country, that it enables criminal justice reform and on a personal level I find it's also a great recreational substance.»

The congressional candidate previously worked for the FBI as a National Security Advisor, and now owns a restaurant in Chicago and teaches at Roosevelt and University of Chicago.’East-West.

Wolf proposes legalize cannabis and to spend sales taxes on public education and detoxification centers, as well as erasing old cannabis-related penalties.

Benjamin Wolf is no stranger to buzz. In the video below, he takes a stand against the sale of assault weapons in the country and, more generally, against tougher conditions for access to weapons.
