EIHA 2021 Conference to be held June 16-18
Every year, the EIHA conference brings together operators from the hemp from all over the world to discuss the latest advances in this versatile agricultural crop.
From June 16 to 18, 2021, EIHA will host the virtual event «Hemp for Europe: New opportunities for green recovery», and showcase the enormous potential of the hemp sector to accelerate the transition to sustainable, bio-based and carbon-free development, in line with the European Green Deal.
The hemp sector in Europe is experiencing significant and rapid growth, encouraged by growing consumer interest in sustainable and waste-free products, and a progressive and positive political development. Nevertheless, hemp's potential has yet to be fully exploited. That's why this year's EIHA conference aims to explain how the hemp sector could contribute to the green recovery, reaffirming the need for policy, R&D and knowledge to deliver tangible solutions.
Over three days, panelists will share their ideas and best practices on hemp cultivation, fiber processing and hemp biocomposites, with a particular focus on how to build strong local value chains. In addition, other topics such as the future of hemp-based foods and dietary supplements, harmonization of regulations at European level, and industry views on cannabinoids, technology, cosmetics, among others, will contribute to the debate.
«I'm very excited about this year's conference! Not only because of the breadth and interest of the extremely interesting topics that will be covered, but above all because this will be the first time we've had speakers and panelists from the European institutions, including MEP Adam Jarubas from the European Parliament and Deputy Director General Michael Scannell from DG AGRI,» says EIHA Director General Lorenza Romanese.
«By bringing together hemp growers, operators, experts, researchers and policy makers, we aim to spark a lively and fruitful debate on how our sector
how our sector could be the key to a sustainable future».
All information is available on the 18th EIHA conference website.
