Survey: CBD to improve your sex life
In a survey of our site's readers conducted by Augur Associates for the CBD brand Yogah, 81% of respondents reported that their CBD consumption had improved their sexual experience, whether by alleviating anxiety or increasing sensations.
With forms of consumption ranging from CBD lubricants to vape pens and CBD flowers and oils, the French market offers a variety of intoxication-free ways to enjoy sensual CBD experiences.
The study at a glance
Here, at a glance, is what the 511 adults surveyed had to say about using CBD during sex:
- 46% of men and women use CBD to alleviate sexual anxiety and 36% to improve orgasms
- Women found CBD more effective on their sexual relationships than men (86% vs. 79%)
- The most popular form of consumption is CBD flowers (83%), followed by oils (31%) and vape pens (13%).
Anxiety, Sensation and Listening
The survey revealed that the main use of CBD in sexual intercourse turned out to be to ease sexual anxiety.
People suffering from sexual anxiety find it hard to concentrate on erotic thoughts and enjoy the physical responses of sex, to focus on their problems, causing either body dysfunction or difficulty in reaching orgasm. Here, CBD is directly involved in one of its greatest uses, namely to reduce stress, and thus make it easier to get on with things.
Of these, 49% found CBD mildly to somewhat effective and 31% found it effective to very effective.
In addition to calming anxiety, CBD users also use it to become more attuned to their partners, to the tune of 31%, and to improve orgasms (36%).
People who have tried CBD support its effectiveness
The online questionnaire asked people who have used CBD for sex to qualify their experience, in the hope of shedding light on the compound's role in satisfaction.
CBD was not always effective in 19% of cases, slightly to fairly effective in 47% of cases and effective to very effective in 34% of cases.
Of those on whom CBD proved effective, 49% used it to improve their sensations and orgasms, 43% to reduce anxiety and 33% to be more attuned to their partner.
Most respondents use CBD flowers before sex
For those looking to enhance their sexual experiences through CBD consumption, the vast majority of people Augur surveyed chose to consume CBD flowers (83%).
The second consumption method is based on CBD oil (31%) and vape pens (13%).
CBD flower is probably the best-known product in France today, as well as being a substitute for THC flower. Some of the survey's respondents noted that it enabled them to avoid using traditional cannabis while still managing to relax sufficiently.
Other forms of CBD, such as lubricants and concentrates, are less widely used by survey respondents. CBD lubricants are still rare on the French market, and probably lack visibility with a clientele that is nonetheless looking for CBD products to enhance their sexual experience. They often incorporate other compounds that will also prevent pain or seek to stimulate the appropriate areas.
