CannaTrade postponed to May 28-30, 2021
Although the current ban on demonstrations in Switzerland is only in effect until the end of April, the 2020 edition of CannaTrade has been canceled. The next edition will take place May 28–30, 2021.
Why isn't CannaTrade being rescheduled for the fall?
Traditionally, hemp fairs are held at this time of year. Several spring fairs have already been postponed until the fall due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the fair schedule is likely to be overloaded, especially for international exhibitors.
CannaTrade's presence is certainly justified in the Swiss market, particularly given The latest developments regarding cannabis within the country, but the organization did not want to subject its international clients to an overload of exhibitions.
About 40 % of the exhibitors at Cannatrade are also hemp producers, and are therefore busy with the harvest outdoors from September through at least mid-October. 10% exhibitors sell seeds and cuttings. An fall fair isn’t ideal for them; they prefer a spring fair.
Last but not least: no one can predict the situation and the Measures Related to the Coronavirus between now and the fall. Various scenarios are anticipated, and it is wiser to cancel than to postpone it yet again.
CannaTrade 2021 will also be an opportunity to celebrate CannaTrade’s 20th anniversary.
CannaTrade continues to promote its exhibitors!
The postponement of an event like CannaTrade cannot be made up for immediately. That is why CannaTrade has decided—as it had been planning for some time—to take advantage of the lockdown to expand its B2B section.
Starting in late April, every company can create an exhibitor profile—including its logo, images, and company description—in My CannaTrade. In addition, CannaTrade provides access to the contact information of all exhibitors, sub-exhibitors, and business visitors through the B2B section. This allows you to meet your future clients virtually.
The Cannatrade organizers are also planning a few alternative events leading up to the annual Cannatrade:
In June 2020
CannaSwissCup 2019/20 Awards Show in Bern. All CannaTrade exhibitors are invited—more information to follow. The event will take place only if the health situation allows it.
September 25, 2020
The CT Club, CannaTrade’s B2B event, featuring conferences on medical cannabis, quality requirements, and the current political landscape regarding the cultivation and export of medical THC in Switzerland, as well as opportunities for companies to showcase their businesses and network.
We will, of course, keep you informed of future developments.
