Vapexpo: CBD slowly making its way into vape

On September 24 and 25, Vapexpo was held in Paris, the vape trade show dedicated to e-cigarettes and e-liquids. Nearly 150 exhibitors gathered at the Halles de la Villette and scented the PG area. We weren't there to vape apple strudel-flavored e-liquid, but to see what was new in terms of e-liquid at the cannabidiol (CBD).

Weedeo

Launched by the Liquideo brand at the show, Weedeo liquids offer 4 different flavors with 3 different concentrations of CBD: Amnesia Kush, Mango Haze, Lemon OG and Orange Bud.

Greeneo

Not yet commercially available, the Greeneo brand offers 5 «exceptional flavors», with a concentration of 10mg/mL CBD. On the menu, Pineapple Express, Candy Jack, OG Kush, Sour Diesel and Grand Daddy Purple.

Product-wise, we're very (very) close to Harmony's terpenes.

Kannastar

The Polish company, which will also be present at the Prague Cannafest in November, presented two products: Snow Bud and Fresh Grass.

Made from hemp grown in Croatia and the Czech Republic, e-liquid from Kannastar is notably composed of hemp essential oil. The taste is quite strong and very (too) grassy.

Hemplucid

Last but not least, Hemplucid. The only full-spectrum liquid at the show, Hemplucid offers no particular taste, but an extract of the whole plant, at less than 0.2% THC, and in CBD concentrations ranging from 500 to 1500mg.

Clearly the most interesting product when you're looking for something closer to the original aroma.

The brand was also testing water-soluble CBD oil, which was also extremely surprising.

This small incursion of CBD into the vape world is interesting to observe, and should become more pronounced over the next few years. We'll need to distinguish between products that capitalize on the CBD trend and those that are truly concentrated and effective.
