High Tide opens its first European store in Berlin
High Tide Inc. (Nasdaq: HITI) opened its first international Canna Cabana store in Berlin, Germany, marking the cannabis retailer’s first physical expansion outside North America.
Located at 2 Alte Schönhauser Str. in the Berlin-Mitte neighborhood, the store sells cannabis-related accessories and lifestyle products rather than cannabis itself, in accordance with the current German regulations. The store is located near Alexanderplatz, in central Berlin.
This opening follows High Tide's acquisition of Remexian Pharma GmbH, a German importer and distributor of medical cannabis. High Tide described the Berlin store as the first step in a broader retail strategy in Europe, encompassing brick-and-mortar stores, e-commerce, and the distribution of medical cannabis.
Canna Cabana Opens in Berlin
CEO Raj Grover said the company is following the same approach as in Canada, where it first established itself in the retail accessories market before moving into cannabis sales after legalization.
«Canna Cabana's potential extends far beyond Canada, and this opening in Berlin is the first step toward capitalizing on this global opportunity.
«As cannabis use continues to rise, demand for Canna Cabana's state-of-the-art consumption accessories will also increase.»
«This physical launch demonstrates our long-term commitment to Germany. We are closely monitoring changes in legislation and regulations, and as Germany moves toward broader liberalization, Canna Cabana will have a significant head start.”.
«That’s exactly how we built Canada’s largest cannabis retailer: by first establishing a loyal customer base for accessories, then seamlessly transitioning them to cannabis retail when the time was right. Today, we’re applying that same winning formula in Europe.»
According to government data cited by High Tide, the German imports of medical cannabis exceeded 143 metric tons during the first three quarters of 2025.
High Tide operates 215 cannabis retail locations in Canada and describes Canna Cabana as the country’s largest cannabis retail chain, with a market share of approximately 12%. The company also owns several e-commerce platforms selling accessories and hemp-derived CBD products.
